When a request is made for a page, the request is sent to a virtual IP. This request is then load balanced depending response server load, response time, or on a simple static weight. One of the application servers in the solution then serves this request. Each server is able to function on its own, with the exception of a shared database. For exceptional Web Application traffic management, the highest levels of uptime and complete scalability, hardware load balancing is the only option.
With this solution server load is dynamically load balanced. The hardware load balancer monitors the performance and availability of your servers in the cluster. Using this monitoring ensures requests are only sent to servers capable of servicing them as efficiently as possible.
